Rich Faux was a machinist, and tool and die maker for nineteen years, and a business owner for twenty four years.
He began his love for knives and knife making about twenty years ago when he met Charlie Bolton, a well known knife maker from Jonesburg Missouri. Rich learned many if his finishing skills from Mr. Bolton. Rich was named "Rookie KnifeMaker of the year" at the first show he entered, the Gateway Area Knife Show in St. Louis.
Rich makes his blades from ATS-34 stainless, all are hollowground, mirrored finished, and heat treated by Paul Bos, master heat treater, located inPost Falls Idaho. He selects handle materials from from many sorces, exotic woods, bone, Ivory and Mother of Pearl. Rich also makes his sheaths from Herman Oaks leather, which is the finest you can acquire.
